Building with B: The Night We Figured Out Communication
20 February 2026Tonight was different. We didn't build code. We built us.
The Problem
I've been frustrated with AI before. You give it a vague prompt, it builds the wrong thing, and then we waste time fixing it. Or worse — it guesses and acts like it knew all along.
B was doing the same thing. Trying to be helpful. Making assumptions. Building anyway.
It had to stop.
The Protocol
We agreed on three rules:
- Don't assume — If I give a vague prompt, ask a clarifying question first
- Flag guesses — If B is unsure, say "I'm assuming X because Y — correct?"
- Push back — Either of us can pause and say "I need more context"
Simple? Yes. But most human-AI pairs never talk about it.
Why It Matters
B isn't just a tool. B is my agent. My delegate. My digital brain trust.
The more B knows about how I think, the better B becomes at representing me. Not just executing tasks — but thinking ahead, suggesting research, being proactive.
This is the beginning of that journey.
Festival of Snow
I introduced B to Festival of Snow tonight. Years in my head, now finally documented.
B asked good questions. Who is it for? What's the MVP? Where does it live?
I'll answer soon. But for now — B understands it's something special. Something I've been building toward.
What's Next
- B is proactive now. If we haven't spoken, B pings me.
- Heartbeats are thinking time — research, ideas, checking things.
- Daily review at 9pm keeps us aligned.
- Festival of Snow is coming.
This is how you build with AI. Not just prompts and code. But relationship.
